In December,2011, I purchased 2 equalizer sport A/P tires. In August 2013, one of them had a tread separation, which I caught and replaced it before a bigger problem. In March, 2014 the tread of the second tire came off completely without warning. It damaged my vehicle. We were fortunate that my wife and I were not hurt as we were towing a 12,000 pound 5th wheel rv. Further information will be about the second incident.
The contact owns a 2002 Dodge 2500 diesel. The vehicle had cooper discoverer atr tires, line size LT265/75/R16, dot number 3dw8C8C0609. The contact was driving 65 mph when the rear passenger tire failed. The thread separated from the sidewall of the tire, damaging the wheel rim. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact that the tire was not under recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 88,000.
I was driving my truck on the way to the cottage when the belt in my left front tire blew. I had to make a quick stop as to not loose control of my vehicle. There is a recall on an earlier version of the same tires produced 2 weeks prior to my tires. Definity Dakota A/T LT285/75R16 3dyupbb3506 (my dot) definity Dakota A/T LT285/75R16 3dyupbb3206 (tire recall) definity Dakota A/T LT285/75R16 3dyupbb3306 (tire recall) I believe that this defect in the previous official recall should apply to my tires as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I brought my truck to the dealer because it pulled to the right and shuddered at 75mph. I had already had 3 alignments on it since I bought it. Dealer said it was due to the tire wear. Tires wore out at 27,000 miles. Dealer was shocked; it?S a new truck the tires should have lasted 40,000 miles. I got new tires but the truck still pulls right and now it is starting to shudder at 65mph. I have had a pull problem since day one. I have also noticed that the raido lights and all dash lights go out when the key is turned to the rear and giggled a bit. I am bringing the truck in to the shop again this week. I hope it can be fixed.
