The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the heater motor was emitting hot air and he could smell burning wires. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they advised him that the resister, wiring harness and the blower motor failed, which would need to be replaced. The contact repaired the vehicle by replacing the resister, the wiring harness and the blower motor himself. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The current mileage was approximately 98,000.
