Dashboard has numerous large cracks. Truck was well taken care of and only had 35000 miles on it when cracking started. I am worried that the dashboard my collapse while driving. Vehicle is a 2001.5 Dodge Ram pick up.
As part of a news report in Florida on 2001 Dodge Ram dashboards I am filing this complaint. I know of 3 people, not including my self that have these trucks, and all of them are in various stages of failure, from minor cracks in my truck to a dashboard that was completely falling apart in a friend's truck.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 and my dashboard has shattered. I now have a large hole in my dash. I called Dodge and they said they would do nothing. Several of my friends have the same problem and one of them has electrical problems from this, her headlights don't work sometimes.
My 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab truck has developed substantial damage to the dashboard. There are several cracks reaching from the windshield to the front of the dash. There are also pieces of the dash that have broken loose from the dashboard itself. These range in size from 1-6 inch pieces. I have contacted daimler Chrysler as to the problem and have been told "they are sorry, but there is nothing they can do." The truck has been out of the manufacturers warranty for 5 years now and the dashboard looks like it has been taken to with a hammer.
Was pulling a trailer at 45 mph the vehicle started fish tailing. Without the trailer at 55 mph the vehicle will fish tail. Took the vehicle to Chrysler, and found that it was shaky. The tie rods ends, ball joints, and the check bar malfunctioned on the front of the vehicle. Almost had a wreck. This happened on 24, June 2205. The consumer stated the vehicle was poorly designed, the front of the vehicle was too light for the weight of the engine. There was no grease fitting for the ball joint. The rotors were replaced.
About 2 months ago the dash on my 2001 Dodge 2500 pick up split apart over the passenger air bag and the glove compartment, then today the dash split apart over the driver side gages. Dodge said this is not a defect but I believe this is a flaw in the materia and the formation of the dash. Please let me know is you have any other complaint on this item. Thank you.
The dashboard on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup is cracked from the passenger air bag to the nut showing at the front of the dashboard(windshield). The crack extends from the width of the dashboard.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 with the cummins diesel. Since the day I drove it off of the lot it has had steering problems. I have had it into the dealer seven times for the same problem and I still have a very dangerous vehicle. I also have numerous other problems with rattles and squeaks that have not been fixed. This truck is definitely a true lemon. The dealer has blamed the problem on tires, steering box, etc., but nothing has fixed the problem. The last statement from the dealer is that this steering problem is inherent to the Dodge diesel engines and cannot be fixed. I almost had a head on collision about a month ago and have since parked my truck. I am now driving an older vehicle until I can get this resolved. I will not risk the lives of my family in this truck anymore. I paid $40,000 for a truck I cannot drive.
While sitting in the vehicle a fire developed under the hood. Consumer stated that the rubber moulding that seals the back of the hood at the fire wall had no way to secure it and it slipped off, hanging down on top of the turbo charger and cught fire.
While driving could step on the brakes pedal and noise will come from bottom of vehicle, and another noise from fuel tank that makes a lot of noise, like bouncing. Could not be corrected by dealer. The consumer was concerned about the fuel tank noise and states that it should be investigated. There is a cluncking noise on take off or stoping due to trans mount failure.
