I bought the truck used..but really nice shape. it is a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel. The dash was cracked already..not shure how long been that way.but a week after be bought it. a big whole fell though the dash. it is cracked everywhere.even trim in front of my steering wheel. This should be made into a recall to have replaced by Dodge. It is a Safety recall. Thanks for Illinois

My truck has always been garaged and a sunshade always used. I take such good care of my truck and you would be hard pressed to find one in such good shape as mine. My dash like everyone else has finally cracked. It cracked in 8 places about the same time. It is progressing worse and worse very quickly. I now hate my truck, hate driving it, and hate sitting in it b/c all I see are these cracks growing and growing and my truck falling apart. No wonder Chrysler is bankrupt. I will never buy another Chrysler unless they fix this on their dime.

I presently own 5 Mopar products and you would think that i own enough stocks in chrysler corperation OOP'S I actually meant Government motors, that you would think that they would at least fix one of their stock holders vehicles but not so, I guess my next car will have to be a four letter F word, all I Have to say to chrysler Corp is sink away its your doing and I am done trying to support you!

Like every other Dodge owner my dash has cracked... The first time it cracked I spent $1200 dollars to fix it. Now 2 years after the second dash it is cracking again. This isn't just BS it should be criminal. They know there dashes are substandard and should do a mass recall. Dodge should just go out of business and do the American people a favor. I see a Ford in my future

Ram 2500 Cummins

The dashboard is broken in several places. Anytime it is pressed slightly, another piece breaks off. It is ridiculous. This should be a recall item. I have had other dodge trucks. 2001/2002 seem to be the only years the dash is this poorly made. I am looking at having to spend nearly $1,000.00 to repair the dash.

I am very happy with the rest of this truck and with the other truck I previously owned.

WAY TO STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT DODGE !!! Back in 2004, with only 37K miles the dashboard started cracking. Well I brought it in for service and the dealer said it would cost around $1,000 to fix and it wasn't covered under recall or warranty.

today i called chrysler about the problem with my truck dash being cracked. i told them it was a 2001 with 95,000 miles. i was driving it last month. heard a loud pop and there it was, a crack. now it has cracked so many times i can stick my hand in it. the truck has always been garaged. they called my local dealer and are going to charge me $240 parts and labor to put a new dash in. only problem is there is only 1 available in the US and they do not want to sell it.. this will work good if i can get it because my evaporator core is leaking and there labor will cover replacing that as well. so chrysler is helping if you know what to do and pull a few strings. i work for chevrolet and drive a dodge truck there everyday may help a few things....

I've got a 12"x12" hole above my gauge cluster from my dash cracking. The hinges for my glove box have cracked and fallen off on the floor. My passenger side airbag bounce up and down because the plastic surrounding it has completely cracked. My dash looks like the grand canyon and has 50+ cracks running through it.

I have 2 Dodge Trucks 2001 dodge 2500 diesel and a 1999 1500 Both have cracked dashes .I have been in contact with dodge and spent many hours on the phone with customer service .I was told that i needed to take both trucks to dealer to be looked at and that i would be contacted.that was over a year ago and i have not been contacted .I called back about a week after contacting and was put on hold and then hung-up on.I have looked on line and have seen 2 or 3 news casts on dodge cars and trucks having cracked dashes .The problem is very large and covers many years and many different models .Is there any one who has thought of a class action suit against dodge?

took a bus ride to Texas to buy this truck, was in great condition. Got back to Winnipeg, Manitoba after a few days, noticed dash was cracking, looks like the whole dash will be in pieces. Dealer is no help and won't even help. Would like to know what year dashes will fit my truck, and has anyone tried the dash covers and how do they look ?

the dash board didn't look to bad, it just had one crack down the middle and i figured it would be fine, but as time has gone on, it has spread and gotten worse now it has spider-webbed across the rest of the dash and looks horrible!

Same as everyone else - dash had about 100 hairline cracks for no reason, and then two days ago it caved in. This has been a well-maintained vehicle. I have two other vehicles- both older than this one and the dashes look like new. It is a shame that Dodge will not fix this problem.

I will just say that this is my first and last Dodge purchase. I'll be going back to Ford.

At first, just had a small crack in one part of the dash and figured it was from being outside in hot/cold weather. Now, it looks like the whole dash is falling apart - everytime I get in it, it seems like there's a new crack.

I have 2001 dodge ram 2500 quadcab. I take extremely good care of it, but one day i got in the cab and noticed a crack in the dash. I have not repaired it yet, it isn't to the point that I have to do that yet! I will eventually have to do something with it because it keeps spreading and from the sounds of it I am not the only person having this problem! I wish dodge would stand behind their problem and fix it at no cost or very little cost! i owned a 1996 Chevy where i hadn't had this problem yet but they still recalled the dash because of a possible problem, guess I will have to go back to Chevy next time so I can be certain that these kind of problems will be fixed like they should be!

I bought this truck to pull my camper with and only use it for that and trash runs once a week. I have a total of 3 Dodge's but if Chrysler doesn't do something soon it will be my last. Chrysler needs to got off there behinds and take care of this there are way to many of these trucks with the same problem not to be a factory defect. Take a little of your bail out money and FIX this because if you don't a bail out will not help you if you have no customers at all

I have read all the complaints regarding the dashes of other dodge owners......I am ready to lead the charge on filing a class action lawsuit on behalf of dodge owners everywhere. Please email me photos, and a detailed description of your problems. jayw1017@aol.com I am in the same boat, I have always been a Mopar owner.....my first truck was a lifted 85 ram 4x4 longbox then an 84 Ram Charger which i lifted, so on and so forth. point is my dash is also cracked, and after an episode with our 2003 Dakota when the rear end came apart at highway speeds, that could have cost my wife her life, and dodge didn't want to do anything about, because it was 1500 miles over the warranty. I have seen numerous complaints that are similar. I am ready for action and im sick of major corporations stepping over the little guy, and taking their hard earned money, and not having to stand behind thier pieces of sh*t!!! EMAIL ME EMAIL ME EMAIL ME!

As many others have noted... the OEM dash in the Dodge truck has significant issues and will severely crack only after a few years. Dodge definitely should be covering replacement of these since there was definitely a major flaw in the manufacturing process. My truck looks great except for these huge cracks running all throughout my dash!!!
