They Did Not INCLUDE THE 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 Yet I have had the same experience several times. When travelling at highway speeds and hitting a bump or pot-hole in the road, the front end begins to shake violently and does not stop until the driver jams on the brakes and brings the truck back down to below highway speeds. Some people contribute this phenomenon to the worst possible downside of having a coil-sprung front suspension on a truck with a track bar. Unlike a typical suspension set up, Dodge Ram trucks will continue to shake long after hitting the bump to the point that controlling the vehicle is nearly impossible until the driver slows down. The current lawsuit alleges that Chrysler learned about the death wobble defect with Dodge Ram trucks in the mid-2000s but waited four years before conducting a series of recalls from 2009 through 2013. Chrysler classified the recalls as Safety Recalls, H36, H46, K28, L16, N62, N49, and N63. The recalls addressed various parts of 2009-2012 Dodge Ram trucks-?? steering linkage system, including its tie rod assemblies. The complaint alleges that the recalls excluded many affected vehicles and that Chrysler provided replacement parts that were also defective, forcing Chrysler to make additional recalls to remedy prior recalls. Consumers have reported that Chrysler does not have enough replacement parts to repair all the vehicles for which it has submitted recall notices and that drivers have been put on long waiting lists for repairs. Chrysler-??s steering linkage defect and redesign. Allegedly, the ball stud is defective in the Chrysler Suspension design. The driver-??s side tie-rod ball stud that Chrysler used is too weak to and is known to fracture under normal driving conditions. The tie rod is a -??crucial link-?? in the vehicle-??s steering system. A loose tie rod can cause any vehicle to have an excess shimmy or the dreaded death wobble. The tie rod can affect front-end alignment. This happen several times in the last 15 years

Van frame is rusting out, steering box that is mounted to frame is likely to fall off soon. Tie rod to frame connection also is rusting out. To my knowledge and after research on the internet, there is no reasonable fix.

The steering on my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 has been sloppy/wanders for about the past two years. First, I replaced all four tires with the same standard tires. I then had it aligned and the mechanic couldn't get the steering wheel straight. So I took it to the dealer, and they recommended an independent alignment shop. There the mechanic replaced the track bar and got the steering wheel straight. That seemed to tighten up the steering wheel a bit. Several months later the wheel was sloppy again. I took it back to the dealer, and they got in and test drove it with me. They did acknowledge that the wheel was "loose" but the Dodge just had loose steering. They also said they could tighten up the steering gear box. So I let them do that. But when I went to pick up the truck, the service manager told me that I might have to replace the gear box soon. Before I did that I wanted to see if anyone else had this problem, and they did. Many people on the turbo diesel register web site have this same problem. This is how I was referred to this web site. If so many people have problems with the steering, why isn't a recall issued to correct the problem.

The main problem with this 2000 Ram 2500 4 whdr cummins diesel, quad cab, truck is the Chrysler design defective front end. In my case, the trac-bar. This, in my area is a $439 plus tax item, the dealer steals another $75 plus taxes for installation. Two bolts hold this device in place and is only a 15 min repair. The trouble is in 30,000 km the new trac-bar has failed making it a chore to keep the truck between the lines. You dart all over in your lane depending on the pavement ruts and general pavement condition. I can see this design defect causing added stress and problems to the ball joints. This defect is a Chrysler problem and all costs to cover repairs should be covered by the manufacture and not the customer. This, and the other many, Dodge front end problems I feel is just cause for a recall order.

October 28, 2003 Dodge customer assistance center P.O. Box 21-8004 auburn hills, mi 48321-8004 dear Mr. Or ms.: I would like to acquaint your staff with the problem my 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 series with 4WD experienced last month at 128,000 miles. The vehicles VIN is:[xxx]. the problem concerns an early steering box failure which meant loss of the power steering assist disappeared. There was no damage to vehicle or person and since I was on a quiet rural highway it was a matter of routine to bring the truck to a stop and figure out what had happened. Your Dodge dealer in vancouver, wa declined to help so the truck went to my tire and suspension dealer of long standing in camas, wa and they replaced the steering box, the track bar and the tie rod ends. Im not concerned about the tie rod parts as those are wear items. I do believe that Dodge should help with my expense of the gear box and track bar replacement especially since I purchased the extended warranty when the vehicle was new even though it has run out. Obviously gear box failure should not occur at such a low mileage. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

I purchased a used 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 4X4 a few weeks ago. Since taking ownership it has become extremely clear to me that the steering quality of the vehicle is extremely poor. The truck wanders all over the road and requires an excessive amount of corrections. I have had new tires put on and an alignment done. The problem still exists. I have let others test drive the vehicle and they all ask what is wrong with the steering.
