I drove to the store was in there about 5 to 10 minutes max had no problem what so ever on the way to. Came back out started it up and it had a rough start but started and was running rough. Then I put it into gear and the truck shut off. I started it back up after two attempts and the truck continued to run crappy from then on out. I had to pump the gas to keep it running and it had almost no power what so ever. I got the truck in June 2005 from a used car lot and was told that the truck had been used as a plow by the privious owner. The truck was very low in miles and did have a large amount of rust for the age of the vehicle. I have already had to replace all the breaklines on the truck because in august 2005 they rusted through. I finally was able to work on the truck in november 2008 when I got it back on the road. In getting it back on the road I replaced the battery and break lines and the truck ran fine. I put a new tank of gas in it and continued to drive it for 5k more miles till april 2009 when it took a dump on me at the store. I then had to towed to my friends place to look at it and try to fix it. Ran the code test on it and it said misfires and o2 sensors. I replaced the sparks and wires which was an ordeal in Feb 2009. Ended up needing a hammer to get the sockets on the plugs to get them out. we were able to get 7 out of 8 plugs because the last one only has 4 inches of room before you have the the master break cylinder. When it was towed to get looked at by a friend who is a mechanic we replaced the wires, dcap and button in april 2009. the problem wasnt fixed.
I have had a lot of people give me ideas as to what is going on based on recent events. It is still running rough misfiring lightly and shakes. the truck doesnt like to be in gear and likes to die once in gear. pumping the gas doesnt work that often anymore and now there is gas smell coming out of the exhaust and in the oil. Some ideas people have given me is a computer problem, no compression, fuel filter/pump, and sensors. In all honesty I am not the best in knowing what to do with this bucket beyond oil breaks and other minor things. I do not have money to just put it into a shop and just want someone to help me figure this beast out. I tried the cash for clunkers but it seems to be too much of a clunker for them.... and it is totally paid off (16k later)
