5th.gear just disappears.I think dodge should have recalled these trans or picked up some of the bill for repair.Even repaired,it can happen again and since the trans must be removed and disassembled,it can get expensive. Not a very assuring feeling if you're towing a boat somewhere in the middle of nowhere being haunted by the thought that you could lose 5th,gear at any time.My truck only goes about 45mph.in 4th.and I was on the most desolate road in Hawaii when 5th gear just disappeared. It doesn't seem to effect the other 4 gears or reverse,so I got home ok and drove it to the repair shop.I expect to be set back a couple grand for this.Bummer to say the least.
