The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact became aware that the VIN was included in NHTSA Campaign Number: 01V037000 (Vehicle Speed Control) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The local dealer was contacted and informed the contact that parts to perform the recall repair had been discontinued. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact searched online for recalls PE VIN and found NHTSA campaign number: 01V037000 (vehicle speed control) as an unrepaired recall per the NHTSA VIN search. An unknown dealer was contacted and stated that the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was then taken to landmark Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram of marrow (6850 mt zion blvd morrow, ga 30260, 678-251-2270) and it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to accelerate independently. When the brake pedal was depressed, the vehicle failed to come to a complete stop and the engine continued to rev without warning. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, he noticed that the accelerator pedal was sticking to the floor. The contact kicked the pedal and it released. The contact then shifted into neutral and shut the vehicle off. The contact looked under the hood and noticed that the throttle cable was stuck. The contact then pulled the cable back from being idled and drove home. The dealer was notified and stated that they need to inspect and replace the throttle cable and upper bell crank lever. The repairs would take a week because the parts were on back order. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 275,000.
The dealership was unable to perform the ignition switch wiring recall #00V135000, and the throttle cable recall# 01V037000 because the parts were not available. It has been 60 days. Recall campaign; the consumer stated that it has now been 3 months and the parts are still not available. The consumer has since found a part on his own.
The vehicle experienced sudden acceleration on two occasions. Once the throttle cable became stuck and the consumer managed to pull the pedal up. The second time a lever became jammed and a mechanic had to free up the lever which was rusted.
Although throttle cable was frayed (4 strands of the cable) it did not fail at the time I replaced it. Throttle control cable was repaired under campaign id 01V037000. Less than 500 miles later, throttle cable failed while driving. Vehicle checked by another dealer, who advised consumer that recall repairs did not properly repair the first time. Dealer advised consumer that first dealer did not add all necessary components. Consumer states hood latch and ignition switch repaired under recall campaign (01V-040 and 00V-135) but failed again.
Consumer states recall item throttle control cable broke. There is a recall (01V037000) possibly relating to the throttle cable which was not performed because the parts to perform the recall were not available. As a result, consumer was able to get an approved part and received repairs through another Dodge dealership. However, when consumer requested reimbursement, manufacturer declined claim stating that replacement part was not an approved part.

Consumer received manufacturer's recall notice 970. Took vehicle in 3 times, and each time there were no parts. Consumer had an appointment for recall repairs made by Dodge manufacturer, took vehicle in, and still there were no parts.
Consumer was traveling about 5mph and throttle got stuck. Dealership was made aware of the problem. Consumer received a recall notification in the mail #970 for the throttle cable and throttle linkage componets to be replaced, however after becoming stranded and then having vehicle towed it was determined by a mechanic that none of the throttle linkages components were replaced and mechanic informed consumer that the parts were on back order and the the previous dealer that performed the work must have used a defective part and consumer realized that the repair only took an hour.
1. rough idle and slight loss of power I've replaced plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, cleaned injectors, but nothing seems to help 2. the cable wire on the throttle body is frayed2.
After elec. Ingnition harness replaced under recall vehicle has had numerous electrical related faliures. Headlight switch melted in dash 2X's causing smoke and or fire condition. A/C failure, no power to compressor. Bucking, missing, hesitation at idle and all speeds. Buck, miss, hesistation can not be diagnoised by numerous dealers or private mechanics. Have spent over $1700 replacing parts (PCM, egr selonoid, egr gasket, tps sensor, iat motor, O2 sensor, fuel pump, fuel regulator) to remedy problem. So far no help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The listed item failed and caused the throttle to stick, I contacted the factory, the dealer and NHTSA and was told my vehicle was not included in the recall that affected this part:campaign number: O1V037000.this is a 1995 diesel pickup and is the exact same defect as described in this campaign number and caused me to spend over $350 to repair at the dealer not to mention the safety factor involved when my throttle stuck open at speed.
Consumer has a stick shift, and driving through traffic one day throttle wouldn't return. At that time there was no recall. Consumer purchased a new throttle and put it on. Consumer located recall 01V037000/ manufacturer's recall 97, )and contacted manufacturer. This vehicle was not included in recall due to VIN. Consumer states upon replacing the cable for the throttle, it was clearly evident that the cable was badly frayed and got caught on the rubber tube and caused an open stuck throttle.
