: the contact stated the vehicle does not stop correctly or safely. The dealership determined this was because the vacuum motor does not have the proper check valve. The brake pedal becomes very hard and lacks power assist, increasing the stopping distance. The brake light illuminated on the dash each time this occurred. Updated 5/30/06
In an emergancy situation I have hit the brakes hard! I hear a click or snap and it feels like the brakes are wet or they oil on them, it just keeps going I have gone off the road on the shoulder and also into the ditch a couple of times to avoid the vehicle in front of me. I pull a 5th wheel often so far it hasn't happened when I have had the tlr....but I am afraid that if it I am pulling the 5th wheel and it happens somebody may be injured or even worse killed, I am very concerned..
When applying brakes at high speed front end wanders to left or right. Frame of the vehicle will change directions when hitting a bump. Dealer has seen vehicle, and cant fix it.
While vehicle stops on a grade brake pedal will lose resistance, and fall to the floorboard. This results in vehicle rolling into an intersection. Also, when attempting to apply the brakes during normal operation, pedal will go to the floor, and brakes fail to slow vehicle. According dealership was unwilling to examine vehicle for this problem and other issues. Please provide any additional information / attachments.
Sound pad to close to the exaust pipe header on 5.9 cum. Diesel engine. Brakes are very bad if you have to stop quick. Frount wheels lock up in normal braking on wet road and in hard stops with a load or trailer rear brakes are worthless. Trans mission lines rub together wearing holes in the in the lines
Intermitttently when applying brakes in an emergency situation, they grab and then release, creating a no stopping condition. This happens on any type of road surface, no inclement weather. This condition has not been reported to the dealership. This has been an on going problem since October of 1999.
When brakes were applied in a panic stop pedal became hard and released, resulting in extended stopping which caused a collision. Dealer has repaired vehicle several times prior to this incident.
While traveling at 24 to 30 mph consumer tried to turn and steering wheel was locked. Consumer tried to brake there were no brakes. Vehicle hit a pole, and airbags didn't deploy. When consumer contacted dealer for a recall letter received. Dealer had no parts available. Consumer felt this accident was caused because recall problem was not corrected. While waiting for recall parts to arrive at dealer for steering wheel and column the steering wheel locked up causing accident.
Consumer contacted dealer in reference to manufacturer's recall 875/ ABS brake failure. Dealer corrected problem. However, consumer noted that ABS light was still illuminating.
Recall 00V135000/ ABS brakes. After dealer performed recall repairs vehicle started to stall, and the ABS light illuminated while in motion. Consumer stated that the remedy has failed to correct the defect. Manufacturer will be notified.
97V068000/brakes: Vehicle been experiencing ongoing problem with brake failure. Vehicle been to dealer shop on four or more occasions, and condition still is unresolved. Transmission trouble has also occurred several times.
