In August 2017 as we were driving across a bridge our vehicle just stopped. Every light came on and then went off. We were traveling 70mph. Fortunately we were able to coast to the side. We were 70 miles from home. We have the truck towed home. The vehicle would not turn over at all, nothing.
Had it towed to mechanic several diagnostic tests done. Had 2 sensors replaced nothing, then told it was the ignition module had that replaced and a new key fob programmed still nothing. then the pcm and still nothing. This is after the Dodge dealership ''lost the truck'' they had it under someone else's name. Finally they tell us they do not know what it wrong and they have someone coming from Kentucky to look at the truck. This guy says he has only known of this to happen one other time and that the complete wiring system has to be replaced. $2900 the the amount quoted for the repair.
The truck has been at the dealership for months and is still not fixed they keep saying they are working on. We were lucky we were able to coast to the side of the road, if we had been in the middle of the interstate and this happened what could have happened.
They said that 9 wires had melted and that is what caused the truck to die and they will not let me have the 9 wires to see that. The bad thing is in 2016 while driving the truck it died again and that time is was cam #3 failure and all that had to be replaced that was $3600. Again we were lucky to not be in heavy traffic. So we have spent over $6000 in 2 years on the truck not to mention towing bills, tires, oil changes etc. We have only have the truck 3 years.
