The truck worked fine until Sunday. It was cold so I started it to warm it up and after 5 minutes I shifted to back up but it would not move. The truck shift lever moved but the truck itself was just revving and NOT moving. I left it alone for a few days then went back to it but it would only go into reverse, so I looked online to see what people were suggesting but didn't find anything helpful. I called about the most recent recall but was told it was just a computer application update and that it would not fix or help my truck. I left it alone for over a week then I had it towed to a transmission mechanic. $2,400 later it was back to normal but now I'm concerned over it's reliability.

The spin on oil filter fell off into the transmission pan. According to the Dodge service people at my dealership this has happened to several other people in my area. Why is this not a recall or at least a reimbursement of the cost of getting it fixed. The service people have told me approximately 10 customers have had this happen here, and they've heard of it in other areas. It leaves you stranded where ever it happens. If you're in an area that there's no cell phone service, it could be disastrous and potentially deadly.

In the coldest days of our winters I would go start the truck and put it in drive and start driving away only to feel like it was sluggish. I saw after that it was only using 4th gear on the dash display. No amount of shifting would fix it. Cold restarts would also do nothing. I let the truck warm up a bit and then shut it down and restarted it and the problem was gone. It happened more than once over multiple winters. Telling Chrysler was pointless as they could never reproduce the problem and they do not try to fix something if they can't see it happen themselves. I asked them if they have ever heard of it happening before and they told me they don't make it a point to compare other vehicles problems as they are not usually related. WTF!?
