My daughter lost control of 2009 Ram while traveling at 70 MPH. A rear tire monitor cover flew off the outer stem and the monitor fell into the tire cavity causing the truck to lose control and sway back and forth into two freeway lanes. Thankfully she gained control and got the truck to the side of the road to fix the flat. This was reported to NHTSA, National Insurance Institute, and Minnesota Highway Patrol about three years and nothing had been done. I warned them that many of these vehicles going out of control and going into oncoming lanes could be the fault of corrosion to the stem threads. I also know this to happen to a Dodge van about this same age to a friend of ours while driving to Texas two winters ago from Iowa. Driver beware.
