My mechanic sees a ton of these similar rear differential pinion bearing problems from the Dodge trucks at low mileage use. He thinks they come from the factory with improper pre-load to the bearing eventually leading to failure...usually after warranty is up. I love my Dodge Ram truck but this was unexpected and disappointing.
