When filling gas at the pump, it shuts off constently. During this process, I am spilling gas on the ground while trying to deal with getting my tank filled. I had the gas fill line replacement done a few years ago and solved this very same problem, but the problem has returned. I have read in dodge forums of this happening to other owners and sounds like there may be an OEM solution to replace the gas fill line vent tube. I have checked with my dealer and OEM website, but there has not been anything done about this from the OEM.

On more than 1 occasion, after filling the gasoline tank, the vehicle has stalled shortly after being filled. Yesterday, I filled the tank. Aware of this issue from past experience, I avoided "overfilling" it. Approximately 3 or 4 miles later, I made a righ turn at low speed to enter a parking lot and the vehicle stalled. I lost power steering and struggled to get it turned safely. At first it wouldn't crank, but eventually I did get the truck restarted. I conducted some business, then went back to the truck and started it to head home. Again as I was turning right to exit the parking lot, the vehicle stalled and I had to struggle to get it to restart. This is extremely dangerous and from internet research, I know others are experiencing the same thing.

After filling up with fuel on serval different occasions the truck will shut off with no warning lights or service lights. This causes the power steering and everything to stop. When at a stop sign it can be started safely from park or neutral but when moving it has to be put in neutral to re start because the brake system does not work good either. It has happened at stop sign and stop light as well as driving down the road at 55 mph

The truck stalls after filling with fuel. It can happen at any time; stalled in a turn causing the loss of power steering; stalled at stops; causes bucking. At no other time does the truck have these issues. I have heard of other having this issue with this model and others such as Jeep, etc. Regarding the "when did this happen?" question below, it happens at 95+% of fill-ups. The last time it happened was 6/1/19.

Engine shuts off after every fill up at the gas station if vehicle is placed in a moderately hard stop or making a right hand turn on a freeway on ramp or city street causing the engine to shut off completely and leaving vehicle in motion without power to steering and brakes. This has happened more time than I can remember.

When the vehicle is filled up with gas, it will stall until some of the gas is burned off. This has happened to me in the middle of an intersection while turning. Vehicle loses all power. The vehicle also constantly emits gasoline fumes. Very dangerous as my truck is parked in the garage with the hot water heater. Check engine light has been on for months and the instrument cluster reads "gas cap". my mechanic checked it out and verified this is a known problem with this model of Dodge Ram involving the gas tank. The part that needs replaced is attached to the inside of the tank, so an entire new gas tank is required to correct these issues.

Having issue with truck stalling out right after fueling vehicle. This happens with out any warning. Several times it has happened while turning, twice going down a hill and multiple time when coming to a fast or even a slow stop or turning. This happens everytime after refueling up the vehicle to full. The engine just quits on the highway with a loss of steering and braking. I've almost been in several wrecks do to these problems. When this happens, steering and brakes are lost creating an extremely hazardous condition and could end in a collision. This also happens when making turns or maneuvering through traffic

Having issue with truck stalling out right after fueling vehicle. This happens with out any warning. Several times it has happened while turning, twice going down a hill and once so far while sitting at a stop sign. This happens once a week right after fueling up the vehicle. I have been researching this issue online and it seems that many owners have been experiencing this issue. Many have spent over $2000 dollars in repairs at the dealer and still have the issue. Many also report this problem of the engine cutting out while in heavy traffic and crossing traffic. Some have reported being on the highway and the engine cutting out at 70 mph. This is becoming a major concern as I use this vehicle for towing my travel trailer with my family. This is a serious condition and from what I have read Dodge is not doing anything but charging people and not fixing the issue.

I brought my truck into the dealer that I bought it from for a recall on my fuel tank in the summer of 2018. They kept my truck for a few days and gave me a loaner. The dealer called me and told me to bring the loaner in and take my truck with no repairs. The service people said that mopar no long carried the tank for my truck after ten (10) years. Inspection is coming up in July of 2019. Other than the fuel tank, my truck is just like it was, when I bought it new. Please help me and others with this problem. I know that I am not the only one with it. Even if I buy another Dodge truck, I am not giving up the truck I have. Please, help me make my next vehicle a Chrysler or Dodge, by treating me right on this one.

After each fill up the truck will die while coming to a stop. It will continue to do this until the fuel level is lowered. My research has revealed that it is either the fuel tank or fuel pump. This is the second time I will have to replace the fuel tank. The first time it was under warranty. Not this time..

I have reported this same problem numerous times before. The engine just quits on the highway with a loss of steering and braking. It seems to happen after refueling and a strong odor of fuel is noticed. This happened within 2 or 3 minutes after refueling and while approaching interstate 35 in waco, tx, on 11/30/2018. An inquiry was made to the local dealership who said they were unaware of the problem and that no complaints have been filed with them. In reviewing other consumer websites that is not true, there are numerous complaints about this same problem and it is definitely a critical safety issue. It is time for the government to investigate this issue before someone is killed or seriously injured.

Just recently, my 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab, 4X2 will stall right after filling the tank with fuel. Within the first mile this truck has stalled at least three times. Once enough fuel has been burnt, the truck will run fine until the next fill up and the condition returns. When this happens, steering and brakes are lost creating an extremely hazardous condition and could end in a collision. This also happens when making turns or maneuvering through traffic. I have read that several others have had this same thing happen with their trucks. I have been told that my truck needs a new fuel tank assembly since the defective part is not serviceable as it is plastic welded inside the fuel tank. I am hoping that an investigation will be opened and a recall on these tanks is initiated to prevent vehicles from stalling in the middle of an intersection and creating a potentially life threatening situation.

At about 89,000 miles I noticed when filling the truck the nozzle would click off many times before it was filled. It steadily got worse as time went by, it started to spit gas back all over the truck and myself. The dealer told me it was either the filler tube or the whole gas tank both of which are over $2200 dollars to replace. They said if I paid $150 they would narrow it down. I paid the fee and was told it was the filler neck. They replaced it only to find it was not the problem. I tried to fill it up and was greeted by a gas spray as it had done before, it was not fixed! on top of that, the service manager, craig refused to do any more work on the vehicle and to take it elsewhere!

The vehicle was stable at a costco gas station. When filling the fuel tank, gasoline spews out of the filler tube and sprays all over, including on me! the fuel sprayed from out and around the tank filler neck gasket. I called the dealer and asked the service writer what is going on? he said it was probably the roll-over valve that was in the filler neck. He said it could also be the fuel tank itself, which is costly. I asked about warranty or goodwill he said no. The problem, in the beginning, it was happening intermittently, it would splash back occasionally then it blocked the filler completely where I could only fill at a very slow dribble. I stopped driving any more than short distances and could only get a quarter of a tank in at about 25 minutes of holding the nozzle. Not only is it a fire danger, and a caustic chemical it is an environmental problem with gasoline spilling on to the person filling the truck, the ground, and the airborne fuel particles! I had them replace the fuel filler tube and it turns out not to be the problem! now they actually told me at the dealership, mcpeeks Dodge of anaheim that they would not be fixing my car and said to take it elsewhere! this is a very basic safety complaint on a system that is a basic fault of the design. I need help! please contact philip copeland state of California bureau of auto repair, who has done a lot of looking into my complaint. His number is (949) 988-5233. He has contacted the Dodge factory and the dealership that was my goto repair facility. He got nowhere but talked to everyone concerned and has much information. I have a large notebook filled with documentation, please call me [xxx] thanks in advance.[xxx] information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).'

After I refuel, whether it's 10 gal. Or top it off, the truck will stall everytime as I drive just the first several miles(maybe as soon as 100 yards or up to 10-12 miles or so). It only happens when I come to a stop, like at a red light or at low speed making a turn. It always starts back up, not always easily though. Of course when this happens, power brakes and power steering is lost. This has put me in a couple of dangerous situations while making a turn and suddenly lose power steering. After it's stalled several (4-5) times, it seems to recover until I refuel again and we start all over. This is definitely a major safety issue and a recall needs to happen to finally fix this recurring problem that has been happening for some time now. I purchased this vehicle new and didn't have a problem for the first 40,000 or so miles. It now has 65,000 miles and this problem re-occurs with every single refuel.

Engine stalls under braking just after refueling vehicle, this problem continues until several gallons of fuel are used. Power steering and braking is lost due to engine stalling. This happens on any road surface at any speed. Engine will restart sometimes after several attempts.
