Only have used the 4 wheel drive 3 times and only for a short period of time around town. Went out of town, had it in 4 wheel drive auto because the roads were a little bad in spots. Came across a bad part in the road and started to slide out of control. Got it under control and pulled over and tried to put in 4 wheel drive. It would not go into full time 4 wheel drive or go into 2 wheel drive. I made it to the city I was going to where I bought the truck. It turns out that the motor to engage the 4 wheel drive system was burnt out, melted the wiring harness, and shorted out the main control board. So the parts are on order, which they are back ordered which is just great. For a new truck costing 40,000 and only having 2200 miles on it is terrible. No wonder the car companies are having financial problems. I would too if I had to replace parts on a new truck already. I have a 97 GMC 4 wheel drive with over 120,000 miles on it and have not done anything to it except the usual. Just wondering if anyone else has had problems out there like this as well? I thought dodge would be a good choice but I guess I was wrong!
