I bought my 2008 4X4 in August of 2008 and in December 2008 the first cold snap the wind whistles, road noise is so loud to even out do the stereo blasting. The wind blows though the front seat and we all have to stay bundled up so we do not freeze. The back doors on this quad cab seem normal. On hot days it has to be extremely windy to make that noise along with drive at high speeds to get the same effect. Took it back to the dealership and bitched, and bitched, and bitched, they repeatedly said all rams are noisy, your truck is normal, they added the 2009 rams did the same. Never owning a new Dodge I never went beyond it. In 2010 waiting for a tune up at the dealer my wife and I too a 2010 ram out on a cold day and put it through our harsh test and there was no road noise or wind blowing through the cab, it was so quiet in that cab flying down the highway against a strong cold wind you could hear a pin drop in this truck, plus no cold air and we could enjoy the ride in comfort without freezing to death. I decided to drive a few ours to another city with a different Dodge dealer and the said I got ripped off as my 2008 should not have this issue and Dodge only repairs squeaks, rattles, wind noise, air leaks in the first year in ownership. Now I have to get it fixed and pay for it on my own. This makes me angry, what I want everyone to know, if you think the response you got from your complaint is wishy/washy then go back to the sales person you dealt with. Usually they can do something because if they do not then you unlikely purchase another vehicle from them. If you do not like the answer from your sales person/go to another dealership(s) if you need to. Most service managers I have had to deal with both with GM and Dodge will try to pull the fast one and not fix something that is under warranty, which makes no since as the warranty pays the dealership for the repairs.
Otherwise this SXT I have runs excellent, no issues on drive train or electronics so far and I am almost at 80,000 km in the 1 and 3/4 year I have owned it. After my last tune up I can get just shy of 700 km city driving per tank and 880 km highway per tank. These kms are driven through mountain passes and driven reasonable within 10 kms per hour of posted speed limits. I have the power of the 5.7 Hemi when I need it to get up into the back country to rescue friends stuck, it climbs steep mountain sides like a hot knife through butter.
I bought this SXT (step up from the SE base model) as having a 4X4 with all the bells and whistles in my mind would get wrecked with all the dust and dirt from the desert climate. If I got the Ram with all the extra electronics I would get frustrated with them quitting. The offer all these long power train warranties, however, what good is that when all the computer modules stop working.
I intend to keep this Ram for a long time, when the electric system dies on it then I might consider restoring it to have high performance parts and using it for shows.
