When the vent controls are set to off or recirculate, there is a large increase in wind noise and whistling from the front of the dash, closer to the passenger A-pillar. 1st dealer I took it to kept the truck for three days, then claimed they couldn't recreate the problem. When I took the head mechanic for a road test and showed him, he acknowledged the problem and told me to call for an appointment the next week. When I called, I was told that they lost their franchise and I was S.O.L. and to try a dealer an hour away. I am taking it to that dealer next week, but my time is scarce and I hope I don't get dicked around again.
Update from Nov 13, 2009: Truck went to second dealer twice. First time they stated they located a faulty actuator in the vent panel system and replaced it. They stated that this should take care of the issue. It did not. After second time to second dealer, they admitted it was a problem and unusual, could not duplicate it in similar vehicles, but didn't know what was causing it, so they called STAR (Chrysler's corporate tech support) for help. Chrysler Corporate told the dealer to tell me that it was common wind noise due to changes in cabin pressure and to go away. Corporate is not authorizing any more warranty work on my car for this issue. The dealer says their hands are tied, and gave me back the faulty truck. Phone calls to Chrysler have met with the same result, essentially "Go away or try to get us to buy it back". I am stuck either living with it or pursuing a lemon law buy back. F** Chrysler, dishonest bast**s!
