I experience some violent front end vibrations at highway speeds after hitting a bump in the pavement. While driving at about 60 mph, I hit a minor bump in the roadway and the truck started shaking violently. The only way it stopped was I had to come to a complete stop for the truck to stop shaking. It was a very scary and dangerous situation.
I have had the death wobble in my 2007 Dodge Ram 1500 4X4 MEGA CAB since June or July 2010. I have taken my truck to DODGE on several occasions while it was still under warranty with no resolution of the issue. I don't put my family in the truck for fear of death or serious injury to them. I am a police officer and this vehicle is my only means of transportation. I have begun purchasing 3500 parts and after market upgraded parts for the entire front end minus the front solid axle. It is the only thing that has not failed thus far. To date I have spent over $2,500 dollars in parts and countless hours in man hours. Once I finally get the problem resolved I will update on this site. Any helpful advice is greatly appreciated.
The death wobble is what I've researched and fits exactly what happened to me 4 times since august of last year. I'm scared of using my truck bit don't have a choice. I just use it with extreme caution and stressed out of my mind everytine I am on the highway. Especially with my two infants..
