My 2006 Dodge Ram has the Goodyear Wrangler hp 275/60R20 installed. My truck just turned 40K. My tires are always rotated and proper tire inflation. I noticed recently that my truck started vibrating. First it was minor then it finally is too much to bare. I had taken it in twice before thinking it was a balance weight issue and each time the tire stored removed or added a small amount of weight. There was a big difference coming back from a 1400 mile road trip recently. At first there was the usual small vibration, but at the end of this trip the whole truck shaking bad. I took the truck in for the 3rd time and come to find out the rear tire was finally showing signs of separation. I was told that I was very lucky that this tire did not separate during my trip. I plan on contacting Goodyear, but from what I have read online they don't seem to care or will blame it on driving style. I have yet to find someone that has received a warranty or pro rated price for new tires. Dodge needs to stop putting these on the trucks or someone will get killed, like my family almost did.

Goodyear Wrangler hp P275/60-20 tires. Purchased used 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab 4X4 with these original equipment tires (32,000 miles). In May 2009 had a tire failure; blowout at low speed following exit from interstate(33,000 mi). Goodyear dealer advised that Goodyear would classify the failure as road hazard and would not replace the tire. Purchased 1 new tire of same kind and immediately had balance and unusual wheel hop. Appealed to Goodyear who replaced the tire. Replacement tire had similar balance issues. Selected location on vehicle with least impact to drive-ability. During fall 2010 (40000 miles) began to notice left rear vibration as though tire was out-of-round. On Feb 10, 2010 discovered left rear had belt separation and large bulge. Steel belts are extruding out of tread. In process of mounting spare noticed apparent belt and tread separation on spare. Four of six tires have had issues. Am replacing all tires. No more Goodyear's, ever!

Product quality defect- poor product quality of Goodyear Wrangler tires recently created unsafe driving conditions for myself, my family and other motorists. Due to the radial band separation issue in a Goodyear Wrangler hp tire (size P275/60/20) the tire created excessive bouncing and wobbling of the tire at speeds over 40 mph creating inability to control my vehicle on the highway. I had the tire replaced immediately (with a Bridgestone tire) and the issue was resolved. When I contacted Goodyear quality dept. They asked I have the tire inspected by a Goodyear dealer, which I did, and the dealer confirmed the radials where /compromised/broken in numerous places. Goodyear did other a $45 rebate on my next Goodyear tire purchase which I declined as I will not place my families safety and well being in their trust any longer nor will I be purchasing Goodyear tires. The tire had approx 15000 miles on it with ~50-60% tread left. (confirmed by the Goodyear dealer.) no explanations or apologizes were offered by gy which displays their disturbing lack of business savvy. I have 3 vehicles in my household and will no longer support such business practices by purchasing unsafe products. I have seen several safety concerns with this tire on internet blogs but thought it best to officially post to NHTSA. I also observed information regarding product safety claims by the steelworkers union (link on your website) regarding the safety/quality of Goodyear tires around the same time by vehicle was produced. (not sure if my tire was produced in the same factory) I would like a formal complaint issued to Goodyear if feasible and/or at least acknowledgement of receipt. Thank you for your time. (Goodyear claim number 1089986).

Multiple problems since day 1. unresolved vibration issues-related to tires and driveline and alignment. Outer tierod failure. Frt right brake assy failure - near accident, vehicle veered uncontrollably off road at 40mph-towed to dealer. Intermittent stalling and hesitating and low oil pressure during operation- truck stalled several occasions while driving - unresolved at this time. Multiple fluid leaks from failed vehicle seals and gasket-issue resolved. Vehicle has been to authorized Dodge dealers for 9 visits for a total of 45 days down time. In my opinion, this is an unsafe and unreliable vehicle. Not eligible for massachusettes strict lemon laws due to being a multitude of different problems.

Left front tire is showing wear on the outside edge. Dealer stated tire was out of balance and needed rotation. Truck has 13,000 miles on it. I am not sure I agree with this diagnoses. Truck also has a vibration when driving between 55 and 70 mph.
