Thought I must have slammed into a curb, or that I went up a curb and did not realize how badly the steering was affected, then I saw the add about the "Death Wobble" and realized that my steering problem, which was really scary, was not limited to just my truck. After hitting something in the road, or making a turn and just running over a pothole or some other nuisance like object, I started experiencing some increasingly scarey shimmy with the steering wheel and then read about the "death wobble."
Realizing that I was not the only one who experienced this driving hazard, I felt compelled to report the problem, too. At times, the steering felt like the wheel would just buckle over and tuck in, but the experience was quite alarming.
Just had a complete new front end put on, at a cost of around $4K (love my truck), but after hearing the same problems and also experiencing the cracked dash - well, just letting others know they are not alone. Pity, because I really used to love my truck.
