I take very good care of my vehicles, always washing and waxing. I change oil and filter every 3000 miles with Mobile 1, I couldn't believe how badly rusted the oil pan became after only very few miles. I kept watch on it until one day it started leaking. I started looking for a new oil pan and gasket and found out there wasn't any available. Every place I called said they had to order it. I called the Dealership and they had to order it also. The Dealership price was lower than everyone else so I told them to order it. They told me I was # 375 on the waiting list to get one. They had ordered 400 oil pans the week before. If they knew this was a problem then I think they should help with the cost of replacing it. When the new oil pan came in Dodge called me and let me know. My wife picked the parts up for me.When I opened the box I noticed the pan was painted black but I could see spots that were bare metal. The paint job was very poor workmanship. This pan looks like it would rust out faster than the one that's on the truck now. This was my first Dodge truck an maybe my last. I also have the 2 piece drive shaft which goes through
u-joints every 2 years. I only drive it about 8500 miles a year. I never had these problems with Ford trucks.
