I was driving down the highway and applied my brakes. The pedal went all the way to the floor. Luckily, I had enough time to put the truck in low gear and come to a safe stop. I checked the brake fluid and the reservoir was empty. It appears that brake fluid is leaking from a brake line under the bed of the pickup near the gas tank. The break is not visible because the gas tank is in the way. I have not had it repaired yet. The truck is a 1999 Dodge pickup with only 29000 miles.

My 1999 Dodge Ram 1500 sport quad cabs ABS and brake lights are on. My ABS no longer works. Occasionally while drive the lights will go out but come right back on. The truck is also equipped with steering wheel controls for the radio. While using the volume buttons sometimes it will change radio station or will turn up when you want it to go down. I saw the Ram van of the same year has a recall for the clock spring. It states that the symptoms are the ABS and brake lights stay on. Does this recall apply to the Ram trucks also?

Consumer states: Made a right-hand turn heard a bang wheel was hanging at an angle and right rotator was broken in half, the brakes pads were laying behind the truck, looks like spindle nugget had backed off of it.

1999 Dodge Ram experiencing problems with the brakes and the catalytic converter. 1 year old and not on repository. When the brakes were applied a light on the dash illuminated. The dealer stated there was no problem with the brakes. The consumer took the vehicle to another mechanic, who stated he was sold a vehicle with no brakes. The mechanic stated the vehicle needed to front brakes with shims, front rotors, two front calipers, bearings, two rear shoes, two rear hardware, two drums and two rear wheel cylinders. The vehicle jerked when the consumer placed the gear into reverse. The front wheel on the drivers side would shake when the consumer hit a pothole. The windows would fog with a greasy film, the heating coil was replaced. The check engine light illuminated and the 02 sensor was replaced. The PCV valve hose was replaced, the left brake light bulb was replaced, 4 injectors were replaced.

I have had 4 sets of front brakes and 3 sets of rear brakes on this truck. I have replace the calipers and rotors twice. Truck only has 64K miles on it and now it pulls to the left and the ABS lights are now on. On one occasion the truck pulled so hard to the left I wound up in the other lane forcing the person in that lane to move to the shoulder of the freeway. I then took it up to Dodge and once again they said the calipers were sticking and recommended replacing them. I had and extended warranty on the truck that was sold to me by Dodge, and they refused to pay for it because they thought there was nothing wrong with the brakes. I truly should have pursued the lemon law with this 99 Ram. Does anybody know what the problem with these brakes are?
