This scared the hell out of me. Has worn out 8 sets of tires on the front. I'm on Social Security and could not afford to fix it yet, so I replace the front tires with used ones about every 3 or 4 months. On one of the most recent episodes, it was so violent it threw itself into 4wd, after disengaging 4wd, it has never worked since. The last straw was this Saturday, doing about 35mph, it struck again and the lower steering rod separated from the ball joint, actually the ball joint came apart and completely lost steering. I had about $4000 in Musical gear in the bed and almost lost all of it. I bought this as a trade in at a Dealership where I was employed for 35 years. This is the only Dodge I have ever owned, was very happy until this crap started. After reading all the info on this problem, I doubt I will ever own another Dodge. I worked for an Oldsmobile Honda dealer and have NEVER had any problems like this with the 40 plus vehicles I owned. Not very happy at all. Just wish I could get it fixed.
