Serious safety issue, someone somewhere made Dodge recall it - good!
But who designs an airbag with a projectile on top of it? Is there no common sense in the auto industry?
I have received many recall notices, good, but - I am simply unable to take a day or half a day and drive up to the dealership, and sit around getting nothing done while they fix their mistake by prying off the emblem. For a variety of reasons I have trouble getting out and doing this kind of thing. I have returned every recall notice with a request to send a tech to me and get it done. They don't answer of course.
It's their mistake, putting shrapnel over and explosive charge in my steering wheel. One would think they'd be willing to spend their own time making it right without me having to burn my time and money to get the bomb diffused. Obviously there have already been injuries due to this and someone made Dodge address it. if they had any conscience they would be willing to come to me and do it, in fact, they could get them all fixed and probably at less expense to them by sending techs out for a few days. It should be on Dodge and "no action required on the owner's part". But they are beholden to no one, money is all that matters, not safety.
