This problem occurred 26 days after buying the vehicle. While we cannot open the door from the inside, my wife finds it chivalrous that I have to get out of the vehicle and open her door from the outside. I researched this problem and found that it is indicative of the Nitro and Liberty models. I plan to return it to the dealer and have it fixed. I also learned that this problem occurs because the doors will lock when the car reaches approximately 15 mph. When the car is stopped and the engine is turned off, the doors remains locked. The handle is then placed under extreme pressure to unlock the door and open it at the same time. One solution is to unlock the doors after the car is stopped and the engine is off before opening the door. The research also suggested that the passengers are educated on carefully opening the doors. The handles need to be constructed of a stronger material.
