A D V E R T I S E M E N T S
I just got back from a store in another town with my mom and my 3 month old twins. I dropped them off at home and ran to Walmart. When I got done at Walmart I pulled out of my parking spot and proceeded to drive through the parking lot into a strip mall parking lot. I stopped at a stop sign and when I accelerated, my car honked the horn twice. I thought I had accidentally hit the horn but I knew that would be hard to do considering to honk the horn I have to press really hard. I was pretty embarrassed because the car in front of me thought I had done that on purpose! Right after honking the dashboard lit up completely for just a split second. Then the car died for about 2 seconds and turned back on.
This is the point I started smelling a terrible smell and saw 2 guys running out of one of the stores toward my car. My car then turned itself back on for a second with all the lights lit up on the dashboard and the alarm started going off while I was driving/ coasting it. My wipers were on because it was snowing pretty hard out. My car still coasted for another 5-10 feet and then completely died with the wipers still going for another 10 or 15 minutes. The guys that were running out of the store screamed at me to get of the car and to call 911. Apparently they had smelled my car (that was now smoking and had little flames starting in the fuse box) from inside the store before it had even registered in my brain what was going on because the lights and alarm had startled me. I jumped out of my car and ran to the other side of the road to be away from the car and called 911. The police and fire trucks showed up and quickly put out whatever flames were in the engine. The cop even mentioned the wipers were still going but yet the car was completely dead. It was the most terrifying thing knowing that I had my babies in that car an hour before and in a different city! The ironic part is that I had traded in my Mustang in July for the "safe, family friendly SUV".
I'm so disappointed in this car! It's still in the body shop and honestly, I don't even want it back!
