I will NEVER purchase a Dodge car again! I purchased a 2009 Dodge Nitro in 2012. It drove fine until 2014. It started with the locks not opening with key fob. Then the windshield wipers fluid wouldn't work. I had to unlock doors manually with key. However, the lift gate wouldn't open because the lift gate doesn't have a key hole or a manual latch that you can use to open it.
I had to drive around not being able to open my trunk which was a pain in the . . . I did it for awhile until my brake lights went out and need to be replaced.I drove around for a while then I got pulled over by the police and a ticket for my brake light. I am frustrated! Because in order to get brake light fixed, I would have to open the lift gate. That was not go happen since there is no way to get the doors unlocked because power is not going to locks. I tried!
I called around to repair shops and no one could get into the trunk. In the end i had to take the truck to Chrysler dealership and they found the problem to be TIPM and told me that the TIPM had to be replaced because all the circuits on the board was burnt out and I need a new TIPM. They also said that it was a miracle that my truck had not caught on fire! This issue is serious and dangerous! What would have happen it driving and car caught on fire and doors were stuck and wouldn't open?!! We could have been burned alive! Chrysler needs to do a recall before someone ends up dead!
