My daughter was driving her 2005 Dodge Neon SXT last night. She was in a parking lot waiting for traffic to clear before she pulled out onto the street. While she was waiting all of a sudden she heard a loud pop noise which startled her and then the dash board cracked down the middle fro the front window all the way to the vent.
I am so glad that she wasn't driving at that moment or the sound may have caused her to have an accident when it popped.
I had NEVER heard of anything like this happening before last night. But when I got online today to see if there had been other incidents I could not believe how many there have been with Dodge vehicles!
My daughter is 16 and she has worked hard and saved her money since she was age 7 for her car. She just got it last week and now this has happened. I do hope that Dodge will replace this for her. This is obviously a Dodge manufacturing problem.
Update from Apr 20, 2017: I posted this the other day, but when I came back to look, it wasn't there anywhere.
It is not appearing in the complaints! WHY?
I see 4 in the cracked dashboards and 2 in the Cracking Dashboard complaints. This one should be in the Cracked Dashboard Complaints. It should have 5 complaints in there now.
These cracks cause my dashboard to virbrate all the time! Drives me crazy! The grill for the defrost area has also cracked in half and fell off. I even keep a sunvisor on my dash everyday, what is going on?
I bought this car in June of 2009 and I heard noises coming from the front. Didnt think anything of it and now there is a crack from the front of the dashboard by the windshield all the way to the top of my stereo. I asked the dealership when i first got the car if they could fix it and they told me to go to the junk yard and get a new one off of a junked car. This is crazy, I want to know what can be done or when they will recall this car.
