This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Back brakes fall off the pads and causes tire to lock up, causing a 360 turn and possible accident! this happened the first time after having the car one year, about 70,000 miles on the car. Second time was the other side of the back brakes. Had to replace the brakes and springs on each side.
ABS braking light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Consumer drove vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that ABS braking module needed to be replaced.
While applying the brake pedal, the consumer heard a loud "squeaking noise" and the vehicle vibrated. The consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem.
ABS brakes failed and the vehicle slid into a guard rail. This occurred upon going down a hill on a snowy road at 7 mph. Prior to the incident vehicle was serviced 4 times by the dealership because the brakes were squeaking. Dealership indicated that the brakes were fine, they just had to wear in. Also, when consumer put vehicle in reverse and depressed the gas pedal vehicle accelerated forward. Consumer then put vehicle back in park, then in reverse again to correct the problem.
While driving and applying brakes brake pedal would go to the floor, causing pulsation and extended stopping distance. Dealer inspected vehicle ten times and could not duplicate or correct the problem.
