This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The PCM on my 1995 Dodge Neon was replaced on June 16, 1994, 2 months after I bought the car. Done by jay Chevrolet/Geo/Dodge in island park, NY. My car has been stalling on me and shutting down off and on for the past 5 years. I spent over $4000 to have parts replaced and the car still has the problem. I want my car checked completely free of charge. It has only 110K and it has been cared for since day one. My brother is a mechanic in oceanside, NY and has been my mechanic since I bought it new up until I moved to phoenix, AZ and all the mechanics I've used here can't fix my car. This is unfair if the problem is the PCM again. The car had complete diagnostics done by 3 mechanics and they can't find anything wrong. PCM does not show in diagnostics. P.S. I filled out my personal info with my current address but will be moving on May 12, 2018 to: 21220 N. 23rd ave phoenix AZ 85027
NHTSA recall campaingn 94V033000 power train; the vehicle is stalling due to moisture getting inside power train. Most of the time, the vehicle would start again once stalled out.
There is a class action suit against Chrysler corporation, there are several consumer advocates that have experienced engine stalling while driving, resulting in the PCM being replaced, the manufacturer argues that recall 614, 94V033000, concerns only vehicles that were produced prior to February 1, 1994 and none of the vehicles shipped to israel were produced prior to Feb 1, 1994. 1)instrument gauges work sporadically: Speedometer fails most not reporting any speed, or sticking at last location. Tachometer fails same way, and on occasion all gauges stick at current position. 2) exterior brake lights: Brakes lights remain on/do not shut off while driving and even after car has been shut off completly. I've found them still on after several hours (no other lights on) 3) left turn signal: From time to time when you hit the brakes the left turn signal switches on. 4) car stereo: Stereo/tape player stopped working. Clock does not come on, nothing. It does light up with interior lights but does not work at all. 5) was rear-ended in mva and airbags did not deploy.
Recall 94V033000, the PCM malfunctioned, causing the vehicle to stall unexpectedly which may cause a crash. There is a recall for this problem, but this vehicle is not included in the recall due to VIN.
