CarComplaints.com Notes: This is a classic example of why you should avoid the first model year of a new car. Sure, it's new and shiny but there's going to be some growing pains.

The 2005 Magnum has problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, a shaky and sometimes stalled engine and transmission failure at 75,000 miles.

Let someone else deal with those headaches.

steering failure

Failure of steering component while driving is to say the least, terrifying. Undetermined which component failed causing the right wheel to turn dramatically to curb and pulling vehicle onto shoulder. My reaction was to turn left to avoid obstacles on path like telephone pole, and fire hydrant. Success with only the telephone pole. From research, after the fact unfortunately, it appears that a recurring issue with tie rods, ball joints and wheel pull plague this model and yet nothing has been done to remedy the problem. Other than this issue, i have had no complaints with regards to the car itself but, this is a severe design flaw that could have cost me me more than a nasty adventure with my insurance company and a ruined long weekend. I sincerely hope that no one else endures this surprise on the road.
