CarComplaints.com Notes: This is a classic example of why you should avoid the first model year of a new car. Sure, it's new and shiny but there's going to be some growing pains.

The 2005 Magnum has problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, a shaky and sometimes stalled engine and transmission failure at 75,000 miles.

Let someone else deal with those headaches.

Airbag lights suddenly always on. Unknown if they are working or about to deploy. Hesitation in transmission while shifting, not sure if working properly. I haven't had any recalls fixed on this vehicle. It showed recalls and suddenly it shows all repaired. Is it due to the year"2005" Seat belts don't retract and are have to be manually maneuvered.

The contact's wife owns a 2005 Dodge Magnum. The contact stated that his wife had received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V352000 (Air Bags). His wife had taken the vehicle to the dealer to have the recall serviced; however, upon return of the vehicle, the passenger-??s side air bag off warning light illuminated. His wife took the vehicle back to the dealer where she was informed that she had to pay a diagnostic fee for an inspection. The contact then notified the manufacturer and he was informed that if the diagnostic determined that the dealer was at fault for the failure, he would be reimbursed. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 200,000.

On around November late or beginning December of 2020 I come out of the store and my driver side airbag had deployed. At this time being unable to drive I got the car towed to a mechanic shop to see what could be done to make driveable. The mechanic said that it was a recall on the airbag and I should take it to the dealership, but he fixed in order to make driveable. I took the car to the dealership and they replace the (fixed) the passenger side but didnt do the driver side because they said is was for the deflater and not for the bag itself so they refused to fix it. So they want me to pay money on something that to me is a manufacturer default. I think it is unfair for me to be responsible for this repair.

The airbag light came on just after purchase and upon lowering the tilt wheel and did so after every supposed repair. I had this in for repair 7 times 5 of which were done at warrensburg Chrysler in warrensburg, Missouri. By the time they had tried 5 times and torn my dash apart scratching all the lower kick panels and leaving me with a dash that rattles the vehicle was out of warranty and refused to rectify the issue. I then called the district rep and was told quote: (we ain't doing [xxx] about it!) at this point I gave up but did contact the federal trade commission and never received a reply. Seems as though Chrysler needs to make this right as it is a faulty sqib1 & 2 cable that is the issue leaving the airbag inoperable and a manufacture problem to tell an owner of a vehicle what I was told shows a total disregard for the safety of my family or any passenger onboard including customers that are often in my vehicle. Note that the date I had to show at the bottom of this form is an approximate and the dealer will have the actual attempted repair dates. NHTSA (nvs-210) information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

On June 21st 2017 approximately 9:05am I was coming out of the hospital parking lot and I was hit on the drivers front side of my vehicle while I was at a stop sign. A woman ran into me and a client of mine as I was on the job! I was in complete shock! I stayed in my vehicle as I tried to stay calm. I got out of my vehicle and call 911 first then a bystandered called campus security. Statements were taken from both parties as well as photos from the incident. After that we were told to get into our cars and pull over back into the parking lot to clear up the area. I got back into my vehicle and started to drive it. My sterring wheel was feeling weird and flimsy- it felt like it was broken. I reached down under the sterring while and the lever to lock the wheel had unlocked. The impact on my vehicle was hard.the drivers airbag should have deployed- but it didnt. The wheel came out, but no airbag. This was extremely unsafe for myself and my client whom already has developmental disabilities. I suffered injuries and went to the hospital immediately after the incident.

(complaint date with NHTSA 5/8/2017) immediately upon having otten Dodge in 16614 pottsville pike, hamburg, pa 19526 do the tanaka airbag recall service, a airbag warning light has become lit (5/4/2017), and hasn't gone out. After filing a complaint with fca customer service I was advised that the dealers are franchise owned and Chrysler has no control over how they do recall installationss. Because a complaint was filed no other local dealer will fix the issue either. Also on 3/20/2017 a service for negotiated between the ntsb, and fca (Chrysler) X53 defective fuel tank replacement. The service was carried out, & the issue is now worse. The fuel tank is no longer vented. Broken evap system. The car was returned to the above dealer service dept for evap fix, and they determined that a charcoal canister was worn/broken & therefore needed replacement @ a cost of $419 this accompanied the tanaka airbag replacement, which I never asked to be done. I immediately had to call fca customer service because despite the dealerships claim that it was fixed, the tank still does not have a functioning vent system ( a major fire risk) also if the airbag light is on and you get in a crash and the bags do not deploy, the highway patrol is allowed to upload your vdr and if they find a fault in the system insurance can deny your claim because the car did not do as designed (example, you break your neck against the wheel cause the bag didn't deploy based on fault, they wont have to pay your medical bills. Non-functioning evap system. Https://www.facebook.com/gary.jamescherry/posts/1479872962075871 airbag light https://www.facebook.com/gary.jamescherry/posts/1480059592057208
