CarComplaints.com Notes: This is a classic example of why you should avoid the first model year of a new car. Sure, it's new and shiny but there's going to be some growing pains.
The 2005 Magnum has problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, a shaky and sometimes stalled engine and transmission failure at 75,000 miles.
Let someone else deal with those headaches.

I've read reports from other 2005 Dodge Magnum owners and see that my problem is pretty much the same. The problem initially started where I noticed a slight jerk while on the freeway. It wasn't significant enough at that time for me to realize there was a problem arising, but now I have this full blown issue. My car went through the cutting off at the red light stage then on to the bas and esp light coming on and now the engine light flashes and beeps. When I start up the car it shakes so bad I feel like the engine will fall out. On my way to the mechanic, but now that I see all the complaints on how money is wasted with no resolve. I'm uncertain on having someone look at this car and feed me some bull. I can only say that I'm lucky to have had the car for a long time and I'm over 100K miles before having any trouble with the car. Up until the 100K mark I was getting all the regular services "required". I'm currently not in a position to get a new car, I need this baby fixed!!!
