CarComplaints.com Notes: This is a classic example of why you should avoid the first model year of a new car. Sure, it's new and shiny but there's going to be some growing pains.
The 2005 Magnum has problems with the gear shifter getting stuck, a shaky and sometimes stalled engine and transmission failure at 75,000 miles.
Let someone else deal with those headaches.

On the highway doing holiday visiting. Car temperature gauge moved progressively hot. Of course I was between exits. Stopped the car, let it cool for about an hour. Radiator fluid was the right color, was low on water. added what remained of a 12oz bottle of water I had. Drove to a gas station filled it up and drove to my destination with no further issues. My brother took a look at it and didn't see anything obvious. No further heat issues until Friday (12/28/12), On my way home from work, a mile from the house started getting hot. Took it in on Saturday (12/29/12).
Mechanic said the fan was not coming on at all. All connections were fine. It just stopped working. I guess if my frigging engine light was working I would have had some kind of warning!!!
So Merry Christmas 2012 to me! $1302.55 some gift
