Me and my other half recently purchased two 2017 Dodge Journey's from different places. Within the first couple times of driving my Journey at night, I noticed the headlights would dim real low and then return back to full brightness. It happens over a matter of a second. As soon as I noticed it, my other half stated that her Journey also does the same thing. She has the very same year and model as mine. The only difference in our Journey's is that hers is silver and has 30,000 miles where as mine is red and has 40,000 miles.
We had both vehicles put on a computer at a local dealer. They said that both of our batteries and charging systems checked ok and that they have no idea why both of our Journey's headlights are doing this. The dealer also stated that there is no other cause that would cause this to happen. This happens with only the cars running and absolutely nothing turned on in the cars. No A/C, no radios or any other things which would put a draw on the battery.
We are beyond being upset right now as we have gone to numerous places and nobody can find anything wrong. We worry that something may be going bad and now we are afraid to go very far away from home at the fear of possibly becoming stranded. We'd absolutely love to hear any ideas of what we can do or check.
