- Summary
- Flash: Powertrain Diagnostic and System Enhancements This bulletin involves reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with the latest available software. Customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination. Upon further investigation the technician may find that the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) have been set:2.4L Engines (Sales Code ED3 or ED7)P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit. P030X - Cylinder X Misfire Improvements when P0335 (Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit) is present. P0456 - EVAP System Small Leak. P1607 - PCM Internal Shutdown Timer Slow Rationality. P2610 - PCM Internal Engine Off Timer Performance. Customers may also notice one or more of the following symptoms:When coming to a stop or making a turn, their vehicle would suddenly shutoff. Mostly noted in high ambient conditions greater than 40° C (105° F)(ED3 Engine only). A hesitation/surge feel that some customers might note it feels like misfire at 65-110 kph (40-70 mph) in 4th gear lock up(ED3 Engine only). In addition, the following software enhancements are available:Start Improvements for cold or high altitude starts when using E15 fuel(ED3 Engine only). 3.6L Engine (Sales Code ERB)P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit. P0456 - EVAP System Small Leak.
