Journey SXT 3.2L V6

Sometimes feels like the transmission doesn't want to shift. When going to press gas it feels like it slips sometimes. While driving it feels like it gives out or downshifts dramatically.

Journey SE 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 55,000 miles

Bought the car brand new. At around 55,000 miles the transmission started acting funny. When you accelerate between 50 and 60mph, it acts like it doesn't know which gear to be in. Took it to dealer, they recommended a tune up or filter change. My brother who is a mechanic for another dealership said at that many miles it should not be required, but we did it anyway. Still happened. Took it back, they kept putting me off saying they had no mechanic that day. Still does it from time to time.

I have a 2013 Dodge Journey that is still covered under the Powertrain warranty. The dealership is telling me that the transmission needs to be flushed due to the darkness of the fluid. Well the fluid is burning up because the RPMs are revving up as you drive. I contacted Chrysler and they are standing behind the dealership. They say this is a maintenance issue based on the color of the transmission fluid. It wouldn't be burnt if the transmission wasn't slipping, what's going to happen when I continue to drive it again. Chrysler is not standing behind their warranty because this is a loophole. I am just at a loss because no one seems to care about the consumer.

Car Vibrates at stops. Has turned off while driving and was towed to dealership. Problem is recurring with many visits to dealer with no solutions because they can't figure out what is wrong with the vehicle. It is a safety concern and needs to be repaired.

Journey SXT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,000 miles

Have had our journey a year this last August. Shortly after getting it starting having shifting and surging issues. We just dealt with it because we didnt think we could really do anything about it. Well October came and i had enough and took it into the dealership. They applied update.

Journey SXT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 22,500 miles

The 4th and final time I took it to the original dealership we bought it from they looked at me again like I was stupid, and after a hour they said they couldn't find the issue and that it was normal. I got in my car to see that they didn't even put a mile on my car from when I dropped it off. (Took a picture when I pulled up and again when I was given keys back.) I contacted a lemon law expert and we filed a complaint. We actually just won our settlement for this issue.

I keep being told that this was a normal trait of the transmission and that this is a known issue but until enough people take their cars in to be fixed for it, Dodge won't do anything. We will be taking our settlement check and using it as a down payment to get out of this piece of junk car and will NEVER go back to Dodge ever again!

Journey SXT 3.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 21,600 miles

3rd trip to the dealership I went somewhere else. They worked with Dodge customer care and did a full workup of the vehicle. There test came back showing a surging issue between 2nd and 3rd gear, BUT claimed it was normal!

I spent 6 hours in the dealership that day and was sent home with my car doing the exact same thing it had been doing, only worse...even though they claimed to have reset the computer and everything.
