At first it started as a here and there thing. my windows wouldn't roll down, and the volume button on my steering wheel wouldn't work then it would work. then all of a sudden on june 22 i rolled my windows down when i left work, and couldn't roll them back up when i got home. my car sat outside with the windows down. i went out a few hours later and tried rolling them up, they went up. then it was on and off working until june 30th. I could not roll them down at all. I have not been able to roll my widows down at all. i showed a mechanic friend and the vehicle was in the ACC mode (auxiliary mode). he noticed that as i tried the button for the drivers window, you could hear the motor going in the power window. the passenger windows you heard no motor, but the dinging sound that the vehicle makes when the door is open, turned off as i tried rolling the windows up and down. he said in his experience, any time that he has seen that, that means there is a short somewhere. he said if the volume button comes in and out like it does, that it is a short. I explained i could smell an "electrical" smell on an occasion. He again said that was a short and needed to contact the dealer. he said not to park the car in the garage.
