Hi my name is [xxx]. I'm writing this complaint on the basis of my 2012 Dodge Journey. I have had my 2012 Dodge Journey for 2 years and 3 months, and I have had to replace front brake pads and resurface rotors 3 times in 2 years. I've also had to replace rear brake pads and resurface rotors twice on the back 1 recently being 3 days ago and now I took it somewhere else because of noise in the front brakes and rotors and they said I need front calibers on both sides and brake hose on both sides, and a break fluid flush and need more brakes because they locked up at that place today also. I haven't even paid car payment this month and I've already paid 300 dollars for brake caliber on the truck and place I went to get a 2nd opion and they said I need $652.85 dollars to get my front done and this is 2 days later after I got my back done. I have spent at least 3,000 dollars on this on going problems in the past 2 years. My 2012 Dodge sucks and I need help. I'm getting me a lawyer and im filing all kind of complaints about this current problem that I dont have money to keep getting fixed. Also once my brakes locked up on the truck once at the dealership which was July 11, 2018 that cost 300 dollars. I live 30 minutes away from the dealership, I take I95 to and from the dealership, they were about to let me drive my truck back home but the brake had locked before they can give it back to me. Question what if I would've got in my truck and drove back home on I95 and my brake would have locked up"?" thanks information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Faulty ABS module due to water leak, recalled on very many 2012 Dodge Journeys. For some reason, not recalled on mine. Noticed brake light, ABS light, and traction light came on, I had a diagnostic done by my own mechanic and confirmed over the phone with the Dodge dealership that I was covered under the recall. After dropping my car off and the mechanics there not fixing the issue, I was told that my VIN actually was not covered under that recall. So my ABS module is faulty for no obvious or apparent reason. I rarely drive on highways, I never got into any accidents, the 3 notification lights as noted above just came on one day when I turned the car on.

They're are recalls for all the issues I'm having with my vehicle but when I put the VIN in it doesn't fall under the recall list. I don't see how they can choose what cars to fix if the same problems and parts are on all them. So I guess Dodge is definitely not the vehicle to buy since they don't stand behind they're work. I was driving and the ABS light and traction control light came on and cruise control stopped working. And from what I've been told it's the brake sensor and that's one of the recalls my vehicle VIN doesn't fall under.

The heater works great on the driverside and blows cold on the passenger side no matter what you do.autostart doesn't work when it's cold out, thought that was the point of it but guess not.makes a really loud winding noise when I starting it, also goes into gears hard most of the time. Got the hard to find 225/55/19 tires on it and my brakes make a lot of noises. My front end makes a bunch of popping and grinding when turning left or right going forward or backwards, heatsheild is falling off around the driveshaft. Service all wheel drive light comes on often, the park assist stopped working, taillights flickering often, one of my fobs works when it wants to even with a new battery.driver seat is also starting to act up to having to wiggle the switch around to make it work. No one wants to fix the problems with my Journey rt making me regret getting this SUV I was practically forced into buying/trading it and when I went to the place of purchase a few days after getting was promised these issues fixed and I'm still waiting will not put my children in this car going to get rid of this nightmare soon as I get the chance since this so called 4star safety raiting is bs don't feel safe at all

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While driving 30 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate. The vehicle stopped moving and the stability and traction warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to 5 corners Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram (1292 Washington ave, cedarburg, wi 53012, (262-375-3900), but the failure could not be duplicated. The contact mentioned that the failure occurred at least three different times. The contact found NHTSA campaign number: 15V675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic), but the VIN was not included because the vehicle was manufactured in February of 2012 versus April 12, 2012 to April 14, 2015, as the recall stated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 107,000.

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While driving 55 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and the ABS and anti-skid warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the diagnosis was unknown; however, both the front and rear brake pads and front rotors were replaced. The failure persisted and the independent mechanic informed the contact of a recall, and suggested he call the manufacturer. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed him that the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V432000 (air bags). The vehicle was taken to waldorf Dodge (2294 crain hwy, waldorf, md 20601 (301) 232-0946) where the air bag recall was serviced. The contact informed the dealer of the brake failure, but the dealer failed to diagnose or repair the brake failure. My car is exhibiting all of the problems that other 2012 Dodge Journeys are under a recall for, regarding the ABS, and traction control, but I'm being told by the dealer that my car isn't covered under this recall. I have resurched and quite a few people are having this same issue, and being denied the recall. The recall needs to be expanded. My car has 110000 miles on it. I had the brakes changed last year by the dealership, and they have continued to make noises like a spinning rusty wheel, and now I have lost my ABS, and traction control, which then takes my cruise control. Cars should not come apart just because they reach the 100000 mile mark. I can clearly see I'm not the only person dealing with this same issue, so they need to look into this!

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the ABS and the traction control warning lights intermittently illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer (ville platte Dodge, 1320 w main St, ville platte, la 70586, (337) 363-6627) where it was indicated that they serviced the vehicle under a manufacturer recall regarding the brakes and within a week the contact noticed an abnormal noise and the brakes had failed to function properly when applied. The vehicle as taken to the dealer more than twice and they had been unable to replicate and diagnose the vehicle after several test drives. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 15V675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic), and 15V431000 (engine and engine cooling) but was uncertain if the dealer remedied the recall repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was not available. Parts distribution disconnect.

Purchased new in 2012. Dodge Journey SXT the tires developed cord separation at 22,000 km. Manufacturer kumho. Neither Chrysler nor kumho would offer any compensation. Even had 4 wheel alignment done that checked out ok to make sure it was not the problem. Replaced them with american made tires and so far no issues. My advise to new car purchasers is have tires if off shore replaced with domestics as part of offer to purchase. Secondly vehicle to date only has 37,000 km and brake rotors developed a warp. Pulsation is being felt upon moderate braking. I am not one to be hard on brakes and have never had to panic stop thus not having to over heat the brakes. Next issue the cruise control will not engage when the button is pushed. The clock on the radio does not keep time. This is not our daily driver and the warranty has run out time wise. To date only just over 37,000 km. I own 2 other N.a. vehicles by GM and Ford 2001 and 1999 respectively. The 01 sunfire 455,000 km 4 sets of pads and original rotors and drums and F150 with 157,000 2nd set of pads and original rotors so you can see it is not a poor driving style. Very disappointed with Chrysler products. Have to take the Journey back to dealer for service to see what can be done and will be getting hold of Chrysler rep, this one is more in the shop than in my driveway thanks to GM and Ford for keeping me rolling.if no positive results from dealer or Chrysler I will not recommend their product to anyone from my experiences. I hope some one at Chrysler reads this comment.I would certainly like to hear their response. Having read many forums only to find out many are having the same issues with the same vehicles.

The brake warning light, ABS warning light and traction control warning lights come on randomly. Sometimes the brakes fail to engage when the ABS light is lit and the vehicle makes a weird noise (sounds like grinding sound). Yesterday my wife was unable to stop at a traffic signal and went through a red light when the brakes would not work. This model and year are under a recall R61 (hhtsa 15V675000) but Chrysler support says our VIN is not covered. Turns out that the manufacture date of our car is about 6 months prior to the reported recall manufacturing dates. This is a dangerous situation that they refuse to even look at or diagnose without charging us to do so. It does not take a rocket scientist to see that our vehicle is exhibiting the exact same problems and symptoms as detailed in the above recall. I guess they want someone to die before taking action. It is my understanding that safety items like ABS are covered for 5 yrs or 100000 miles and our vehicle is under that description as it has 86,000 miles and was built 10/2011

The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While driving 50 mph, the brake pedal was depressed and traveled to the floorboard. The contact stated the brake pedal was released and reapplied until the vehicle finally stopped. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired due to the fact that the vehicle was operating normally. Several days later, while driving 40 mph, the vehicle failed to accelerate when the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed as having a fuse box failure. The independent mechanic advised the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer because there was a recall; however, the dealer stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage and VIN were unknown.

Takata recall. The contact owned a 2012 Dodge Journey. When the brake pedal was depressed, it failed to respond. As a result, the contact crashed into the driver side of another vehicle. The air bags deployed. The driver sustained bruising from the seat belt restraint and air bag, which required medical attention. A police report was filed. The insurance company towed the vehicle to a repair center, investigated the crash, and determined that the brake system may have been faulty prior to the crash. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 15V431000 (engine) and 15V675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic) after the crash occurred. The manufacturer was notified of the crash and was to investigate the brake failure and air bag deployment. The contact was waiting for a response from the manufacturer. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was not available. - (recall related incident)

While still under factory warranty I complained that the rear rotors were scored. Rear brake pads are totally worn out, aftermarket pads were suggested, and put on at my expense of $270. Car has 30,076 miles on it. I was told on 29sep14 that once warn and scored rear rotors scoring again was normal. Car has 41,124 miles on it. Last week car was again brought in, the rear right rear brake pad was gone.I brought the car to martins Dodge in union grove to have the work done again. I did not want the first dealer to work on the car anymore. Chrysler wants me to pay for the repairs first at my expense. Then they will reimburse for what they think is correct. Estimated repairs are over $900. Since last time I only drove the car 8,000 miles. Will this happen to me again in another few months.
