The Journey has been renowned for the power steering hose bursting in really cold weather (ie. <-25C). It burst three times on me before Chrysler was forced to recall it. They covered it through the warranty each time but one time it there was significant expense to me. I live in a remote town. They hauled it almost 600km to a dealership for the repair. There was no loaner because of my remote location. And when it was done I had to get myself there just to pick it up. They should have hauled it back in my opinion.
In the winters, the power steering hose and/or clamps detach causing immediate power fluid leak and no power steering. Its a pain in the ass _happened once winter of 2012 and now twice in the month of December 2013. This is a safety concern.... My mechanic states that this is common for Dodge vehicles. Is the hose too short??? I maneuver into a parking lot and hence when I go to back out ----no power steering. I don't overextend the turning, steering ----I'm spending a lot of time and money servicing this vehicle. This is a disposable vehicle, driving it to the ground will be pretty easy I think. Don't bother trying to keep a Journey for a great trade in. Not impressed.
