Purchased pre-owned January 2016. Driving home from work and the check engine light came on. I stopped at a local autoparts store and they scanned it. It came back with 2 different codes. I took it to a mechanic the next day. He scanned it and got one code that was different than the 2 I provided him from the scan from the autoparts store. He said it was likely an electrical problem since the codes were not the same. After 2 weeks of investigation, tracing all wires, he determined it had to be the powertrain control module. He sent it to the local Dodge dealership to be reprogrammed. The dealership scanned it and said it didn't need to be reprogrammed, it needed to be replaced. New PCM installed and no problems with check engine lights...so far.

The check engine keeps on coming on and staying on as well as the traction light. I have noticed problems with the car losing power while I am driving or accelerating; this has happened several times.it drives horribly every time I tried to stop the car would tremble. I am really concerned about these problems as I drive my car with three small children. I don't have the money to keep taking it for a diagnostic each time the light comes on; if the company is aware of this problem; they shouldn't charge people so much to check the codes or they should have a recall to fix the ongoing problems.

So I see that I'm not the only one with Brake problems on my 2010 Dodge Journey. At 50 k I ended up replacing pads, turned rotors, and calipers. Yes, calipers at that low mileage. Couldn't believe it. Then, 88 days later had to go back and have all rotors replaced. Ugh. Since then, I ended up with bad rear struts, and I have an engine light on, traction control light, and I think the ebs light or whatever it is. I had a quick scan and they sold me a neutral/safety switch. Wrong. So, took that back and now it says cruise control/brake switch low. Funny, I don't have cruise control.

I have a very basic POS. So now going to have a diagnostics run on it and see if they can't figure this sh*t out. I will never purchase a Dodge again. For that matter a Chrysler product. Back to Chevy. Well, when I can get rid of this junker. Oh and I shouldn't forget, I've also had to replace the alternator and surpenteen belt. I understand normal maintenance, but I've owned cars for over 25 yrs, and have never had all this crap go wrong with such a new car.

Driving it for a short distance it continues to shudder, shuddering gets worse my brakes fail and my steering wheel locks up but I am able to coast to the side of the road. After waiting 10 mins, I restarted it, drove back to where I was and had it towed to McGregor's . They had it for about 3-4 days. I have had new rear and front heads replaced.

the check engine light keeps coming on and now it is just on. i have heard of others with this problem. i am going to have to take it in and get charged for the dealer to look at it...really frustrating. i consider this still a new car and this should not be happening. the dealer should extend the warranty or make better cars. I don't have money to keep taking it each time for a diagnostic...which keeps reoccurring.
