While driving at 60 mph on interstate highway, all electrical systems shut down. Radio & ac went off, windows would not open, blinkers did not work. Took to dealership & was told a new battery was needed. Replaced battery & same incident occurred a week later. Called dealership. Was told to bring back in. Spouse gained access to battery (front left wheel must be removed to do this) and made sure wires were connected. Electrical failure did not happen again until November 22. Again while driving at 60+ mph on interstate highway, radio flickered a few times before completely shutting off, wipers did not work (rainy day), door locks, door windows, blinkers all failed to work. Made it to a parking lot where vehicle "chugged" into parking space (like a manual transmission car in 3rd or 4th gear would "chug" if you went slow). Called dealership who said to bring vehicle in for a diagnostics test. Was told every diagnostics test was run & after 2 days in the service department, nothing could be found.

My 2010 car will not start sometimes, this happened in 2011 my fiancee is on his way to Alabama he stopped at the rest stop and turned off the engine, when he tried to turned on the engine it will not start for several hours he was trying, finally it started he took it to Dodge dealer in Alabama and they replaced the module for free. Once in a while the car will not start then when we wait for an hour it will start it. I always take it to darcars dealer for them to check it but since the car will start they told me there is no problem Nov.4 my fiancee was in the mall he when went back to the car the car won't start he called triple a and towed the car to the dealership. Darcars of rockville first said it was the module they replaced it on the 5th of Nov.then called me again they said it was the harness they replaced the harness. Last night they called me around 6pm and told me maybe the computer module they are waiting for tech support to call them about the problem 3 days and still can not figure out what is wrong with the car.

The horn started randomly honking. It would go on for 30 seconds to a minute, blaring like someone was honking it with no distinct pattern. This happened when the car was turned off, no one was near it, the key fob was in the house. At one time it sounded like the alarm horn, with no lights flashing, but the car we unlocked and disarmed. This went on all night from about 7pm to 7am. Took it to the dealership for this and other issues. They had it for a week and the issue would not duplicate for them. This morning, a week and a half later, I went to start the car. Turned the key, nothing happened. Turned back to off position and tried again. This time it started. We had the whole ignition module replaced several months ago when the car left me stranded, alarm going off constantly, but I couldn't unlock the car. It was not the key batteries. I used the accessory key to open the door, and removed the horn fuse so it could be towed. Not covered under warranty equals over $700 in repairs and a lost day of work. Now I'm inclined to think that the new switch may be defective as well.

My husband and I purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey SE VIN#[xxx] in year 2010 in Canada, in 2013 we imported it into us and we are living in Michigan. During the five-year ownership, this vehicle has been causing safety problem many times, the issue is sudden lost of electric power for turning signal, wiper motor power, radio and all dashboard light, except the engine running. The first time of such incident happened within 1 year of ownership while we were at turning signal, the vehicle lost turning signal caused confusion to the vehicle behind and almost caused an accident, and since then every few months or so this incident happens, the dealer did multiple repair to it, but never really solved the problem. Many times the dealers could not replicate the issue we report. I recently experienced twice of such incidents, one was during raining day and the wiper lost power I could not see ahead and had to stop on road, the most resent was yesterday I lost ventilation to the window and could not see through the window due to moisture on window. I video taped these two incidents and would like to forward to you if I can find a way to attach to this complain letter. This is very serious safety issue can cause fatal accidents, we need your help to force manufacture to admit the issue and address the issue immediately before fatal accident happens. Thank you! information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Vehicle was running and suddenly lost all electrical power. Car was moved to shoulder of roadway and I turned the engine off. The engine didn't want to restart. When engine did restart car ran normal for about 1 month. This has happened about 5 times from 6/13 to 10/14. Dealer can not find the problem. Ignition is not on recall list for this particular VIN. I had dealer replace ignition on 10/14 and had to purchase two additional keys because the old keys could not be programmed to the new ignition switch.

On March 6, 2014 I drove off the lot of eastchester Chrysler Jeep Dodge llc #1352682 located on 4007 boston road bronx, NY. We enjoy driving our 2010 Journey until October 19th 14 @ 5pm on the I 95 driving 55 mph the vehicle started to stall leaving me at the entrance of exit 15 with on coming traffic driving 50-55 mph exiting. I had a 2 yr old and 13 yr old in vehicle and was sitting on highway for 2 hours waiting for tow truck. The car wouldn't start or go into gear. On Wednesday, October 22, 2014 it was towed for the second time to eastchester Chrysler Jeep Dodge and on the 23, I was advised by the service department and informed that the two recalls were done (L25 and K37) on March 15, 2014 but the vehicle was in my possession on March 6, 2014. Upon returning to the sales office I was informed that because of the backlog in paperwork there is a discrepancy in dates of when the work was completed. A salesperson advised me the tipm and battery need to be replaced and the cost is $1153 plus tax. October 24, 2014 a recall for (P54) was put into effect. Why an I being held responsible to pay for parts and labor for a part being recalled.

My first complaint is that if my husband or myself accidentally hit the ignition switch while the car is in motion the car will shut off. In addition if this happens before we start driving the car will shut off and the dash board, the center console and the ac will all shut off. I have informed Dodge of this problem twice and have not gotten any correspondence in return. During the second call I was informed that if I did not have a recall notice sent to me that my car is not apart of any active recalls and therefore they cannot do anything for me. Secondly, just recently on 10/16/2014 while I was trying to take my 7 year old son to the er, my car would not start. I thought it could be the battery, but the lights and everything else was working. After several attempts and after me tapping the ignition switch the car finally started. Everything in the car comes on however, the car makes a clicking noise and does nothing else. A week later it did the same exact thing on 10/22/14. I looked online and all behold there are several complaints going back to 2009 there are also youtube videos. My question is why is Dodge not being held responsible for there negligence, clearly there is a known issue. What tragedy has to happen before Dodge does something to resolves these issues for their customers. I would also like to add that the Dodge Journey is by far the worst car that Dodge has ever produced!

On numerous occasions, my 2010 Dodge Journey looses wipers, radio, air conditioning, heat lights and on two occasions the motor shuts off. Both times on an interstate highway. Very scary!
