I bought a 2010 Dodge Journey used with 1 previous owner with service records for my college daughter. Shortly after buying it she noticed the check engine light would come on and leave back and forth. One day while driving it just shuts off while driving in the middle of a busy main intersection. She called crying I had car towed to shop. First the coolant hose was broken fixed that then check engine light back on once they finished and test drove around the block.
It was then found that an electrical issue is the cause of all the horn honking due to main board needing replacing. Take to dealership due to previous owner paperwork stating same electrical issues however since it was only displaying horn honking they did't do a full workup they only fixed an issues that wasn't the issue had previous owner paying almost $700 to fix an issues that was an issue but only to leave the real issue untouched. Now they want to charge me $1480.00 to fix it.
