Purchased pre-owned from dealership January 2016. I noticed the heat didn't blow as warm from the passenger side as it did from the driver's side, but the weather was getting warmer so I didn't pursue it. In October, it was a cold day so I turned the heat on. My passenger complained about the cold air. Driver side was hot, but passenger side felt like it was the outside air. (And no, it is NOT a dual climate system) I took it to mechanic who said the heater core was pplugged because the cooling system had been filled with leak stop. I didn't do it so the previous owner must have known there was a problem. He flushed and back flushed the heater core. He said it could take several flushes to get all the leak stop out because as it flakes off in the lines it will clog the heater core again, or I could replace the entire cooling sytem at once. I opted for the flush. The heat worked for 2 days before going cold again. I took it to a different mechanic who said a plugged heater core would not allow heat on one side but not the other. He said it was an actuator in the heater box. The whole dash board was torn out of the car and new actuators installed. The heat worked properly for a couple of weeks and now there is no heat on passenger side again.
I owe approximately $10,000 on the vehicle and have so far replaced : the starter, battery, heater box doors, the powertrain control module (PCM), the front brakes and front/back struts and mounts in addition to the heater core flush. The battery I can forgive, that's routine maintenance, but everything else is total BS that a dealership would sell a pre-owned vehicle with so many problems and not stand behind it. I have spent more money in repairs than payments! I'll be sure to report all the other problems individually so they can be tracked. I just wanted them to be all in one place to express the totality of the situation with this vehicle.
