After replacing the control arm.. I'm still having issues with the front end. The car is constantly drifting to the left or right when driving over bumps, cracks or just anything not smooth on the road. When you brake hard the car will jerk forward.
Worst car I ever owned. I have had the car not even a year and the vehicle has been in for repairs at least once or twice a month. The problems range from recalls to fixing the shifter linkage, changing the CV joint, to the top of a strut, and they just fixed the strut less then a week ago and it is doing it all over again. Contacted the auto maker and the lady I talked to said she is tring but she is limited what she can do.
Suspension noise was in the rear, and after a lot of taking this and that apart, removing rear suspension cradle and all rear control arms, they were clueless. After lubing and reinstalling everything, re torquing, then more lubing, the suspension noise in the rear was gone. Now the front left makes a seal barking sound when turning left and when you brake usually.
Update from Sep 8, 2009: Now that Dodge is part of Jeep, the mechanics are new to working on Dodge. The left front suspension noise continue. My left front brake was down to 3 mm after 13,000, and they said that all the problems, including a left front axle nut loose and ready to shear off, that the brake just went bad. Could admit it was unusual but couldn't come up with why it was that way.
This vehicle also lost ALL engine oil @ 116 miles. Took over 9 hours for Chrysler's towing service to pickup vehicle. Engine was knocking badly when I shut it off as oil light came on. Now it uses 1 qt of oil/100 miles but dealer says it just needs to break in. Well I'm a farmer with 42 other engines on my tractors, combine and semis and I know the engine was ruined due no oil or oil pressure. I've always driven Chrysler products but this will be the last if dealer doesn't replace vehicle. I'm not going to be satisfied with a replacement engine because mechanics will not install the same as factory and I'll have electrical problems or squeaks and rattles!
