My brand new at the time, 2009 Dodge Journey would start but shut off as soon as I released the ignition fob (key). It was in to the dealer 15 times over a 2 month period starting when it had 2433km on it. The dealer kept saying there is nothing wrong with it, that I didn't know how to turn a key. At that point I had been driving for 35 years and had logged well over a couple million miles so I probably had turned a key maybe 350,000 times. They told me never to come to the dealer again. Imagine, I just purchased this piece of crap from them, not leased it, and they didn't want to see it or me again. Just because they couldn't diagnose and fix the problem doesn't mean I don't know how to turn a key. I went home and studied how I was releasing the key and to my amazement when the key was released instead of going to RUN it went all the way back to Accessory and shut the motor off.

I took the car to another Dodge dealer and explained what was happening, the service manager took a look at it and said I was correct. He ordered an new ignition switch and installed it 2 days later. Problem solved. I had him remove the selling dealer's sticker from the back of my Journey also. Needless to say, I will never purchase another vehicle from the selling dealer ever again.
