I turn the car on and the clock doesn't show. Focusing on the console screen, nothing happens. Everything in the car runs fine except the console screen. No clock, radio, CD player, backup camera, or anything. It's annoying but I deal with it. Go about my business for the day and return home.
The next morning when I go to start up the car it won't start. After recharging the battery, the car was back to normal. This has happened multiple times and I have started to come up with some hypotheses as to what is going on. The second time it occurred, I investigated the issue a bit more deeply and it seems a fan in the center console (next to the driver's right leg) stays on continuously, even when the car is in park and supposedly turned off.
Today it happened again, and I tried charging the battery to full before the car wouldn't start tomorrow morning, but after charging the battery the console screen/system still wouldn't work. Seems like it is trying to shut down or power on, but is stuck somehow, and only way to get it back in working order is to cut power to it so it does a hard reset. The issue seems to happen after the CD player starts up, as I can hear the CD's rearranging in the player before the screen doesn't turn on for the first time. I have taken it to the dealer but all they did was replace the battery.
