I am a woman dealing with an issue concerning the safety of my Journey and I am being taken advantage of by a dealership, Bob Schwartz CDJ. I purchased my 2009 Journey in September 2014. Since 2016, I have had my Journey in for routine maintenance and a few repairs to the Service Department of Bob Schwartz CDJ. I had a new battery installed in August 2016 because the Journey would not start. My power window and power mirrors did not work on the driver door. My power locks did work.
BS's service center replaced the door modular for the power mirrors and windows. That repair was October 2016. Since October 2016, I have had intermittent locking ability and a stutter start. Now I am having problems with the automatic door locks. When the doors are working properly, I can unlock the driver's door, open the driver's door and the rest of the Journey unlocks including the hatch. When the Journey has a stutter start, I loose the ability to unlock the rest of the Journey. This is frustrating since the dealership has had my Journey for 10 days and could not get the Journey to act up.
I picked up my Journey on Saturday April 22, 2017, drove my Journey back to Kokomo (20 some miles) and my Journey stutter started 3 times within a couple of times and still had automatic unlocking ability. On Sunday, I lost the unlocking ability. I need the unlocking ability. My job is to have a safe and working vehicle. I cannot use my hatch. I have to manually let down my front seat to lean to the back to unlock the passenger doors to transport individuals. This is frustrating!!!!!
I have put in over $3000 in repairs last year and they want me to put in a $1200 TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) because they cannot figure this one out. Oh, I forgot one little thing that really set all of this rolling. Six months after my purchase, Dodge recalled my key fobs. These fobs control the lock/unlock mechanism and remember Bob Schwartz replaced the door modular back in October 2016. When I press down on my door locking driver's side, you see the door locks push up when you would think they would push down. I am betting the modular units are not 2009 parts or put in wrong and causing all of these issues. otherwise my Journey only gets me to my job sites and nothing more. I am paying for a piece of $#!t.
