This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
My vehicle (2003 2.7L Dodge Intrepid) was being driven on the highway by my fiance. She said that the engine check engine light came on and the car began to sputter. She managed to work her way through the traffic and when she got to the side of the road the car died. It was towed to the Dodge dealership and they said that the connecting rod cap came off and blew out of the oil pan. The repairs will cost me $8,000. Which I cannot afford.
