Steering wheel is out of line instead in driver's hands at a 10:00 to 2 angle while hands are at 12 and 8 angles. In order for vehicle to go strait has to turn steering wheel to left. Consumer had vehicle towed to dealer, and they stated that steering rack and tie rods went out. Steering has been on back order for about two weeks or more.
When vehicle went to make a turn in either direction at any speed under normal weather conditions, a 'crunching' noise would come from front right side of vehicle. Dealership replaced tie rods in an attempt to correct this defect, and noise remained. Dealership then lubricated an unknown part of suspension, which did eliminate noise. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
The vehicle has ahd multiple alignment and tie-rod problems. It displays wobbling at very low and interstate speeds. Considering the number of complaints related to the steering rack & pinion and tie rods, I believe that a recall is warranted.
While driving in a parking lot consumer was making a slight turn and heard a pop. Then, steering was gone. Driver could turn steering wheel around and around. Dealer replaced the steering linkage because it was broken. Dealer also replaced hood struts.

Dealership informed me that Chrysler's warranty did not cover this defect and if not repaired it could lead to an accident and non function of the vehicle this should be a recall item it dangerous when you have limited control of steering and the engine sound like it was going to fall out when you stopped.
With complete sudden failure..could cause a loss of steering..with a partical loss..it will cause your car to steer right when gas is given and steer left when letting off gas..will almost change lanes from gas to let off.
Engine head gasket allowed coolant to leak down to a level that the $1200/each heads warped. Tie rod bushings have been replaced three times so far (once by the dealer and they failed within 10K miles and barrett Dodge would not replace) and now the left bushing needs replacing again. If you travel a certain speed and make a turn the wheel shakes violently and you have to come to a complete stop to be able to make it stop.
When the brakes pads are gone there are no brakes light to indicate a warning about it until consumer could hear a grinding metal to metal noise. Also, tie rods had failed three times.
At various speeds vehicle will pull to the right. At a stop/ on dry roads, an dunder acceleration, vehicle will pull either to left or right.vehicle has been aligned twice, and tie rod replaced, but defect still occurs.
My Dodge Intrepid's steering was very loose and the car was hard to control. The car had less than 35000 miles on it, bought new, carefully maintained, and never in a crash.. the steering seemed to deteriorate noticeably over a short period of time. The S
I think that is enough to tell you this model has defects too many to mention. I think Dodge should allow some sort of renumeration on repairs or a nice reasonable discount on future purchases since this is my second Dodge.
Steering is very erratic. The faster you go the worse it gets. Took it to my mechanic and he told me he has seen several similar problems with this type of vehicle. Bushings for the steering have separated creating too much play.
Vehicle hits a bump and would shake when foot on brake. Vehicle would shake and move. Took foot off brake to gain control, incident happened at 10 mph. Dealer stated that the tie rods have separated.
